Monday was a rough day. After the short night between races Saturday night and the long day of racing, packing, schlepping gear, and travelling I arrived home just after 1:00am Monday morning (sudsy night basically)

By the time I got to sleep I only had about 4-4.5 hours of sleep before going to teach classes all day long. And I mean almost all day long with a post work/school meeting as well.

It was simply brutal as I was pretty tired, exhausted, and beat down. I got through it though and even managed to do sone decent teaching pointing out and explaining some key points. Anyways, after work I unpacked and put together my bikes and then did some laundry before meeting a friend to get some food. After the long tough couple pf days it was good to get to relax for a short bit doing nothing.

I got an email from my coach today saying I should take two weeks off and then ease into off season. I replied saying I can’t because I have to do the Texas state road race championships this weekend and the matrix track race the following weekend. I then said that at that time I could start my break but I’m not sure if two weeks would be long enough.

I’m ready to just relax hanging with some friends eating food and enjoying some good vino.

More to come soon about how I feel overall about my nationals etc and how I think I did.

For now though I need sleep and have 150+ journals to grade by Thursday morning because that’s when grades are due for the end of this grading period. Oh yes… Back to life, back to reality indeed.
