I slept really well last night which was a pleasant surprise. Hopefully I can do that again tonight.
Thanks to whomever posted a link in the txbra forum to my first post about the crash. Because of that I had 550 visitors to the site yesterday and another 175+ today. Those are above average as usually I think it’s just my parents, a loyal aunt, and a couple other loyal followers who check this thing.
Anyways, this is my first real injury of sorts so for the first time I’m learning how to do things with one less apendage. It’s quite challenging and painful at times. Well painful when my bumb shoulder does too much.
Here is a list of chalenging or painful tasks:
-Applying deoderant
-Washing the opposite(right) shoulder area
-Putting shirts on and taking them off
-bringing in groceries
-getting in and out of the car
-multi-tasking just about anything (hard to do with only one really effective hand/arm.)
-putting a fitted sheet on a bed
And honestly perhaps the hardest task of the day…
-putting pillows in a fresh pillow case
Brings new appreciation to folks with more serious injuries/recoveries and particularly brings new appreciation of what it must be like to have a dissability.
Thanks to all those who have voiced their concern and/or expressed well wishes. I’m fine and am gonna be fine. Let’s just think about the others with harder recoveries than mine. (Yo Erickson, Frank Lawliss, and Bill Short come to mind from their recent crashes as well as the others from this weekend.)
Thanks for reading,
Andrew
