Wow I have been absent for a long time. There really is no good excuse for it other than a combination of no real (or interesting) news, enjoying my off season, and being very busy.

At first I’d say updates were lacking because I was enjoying the off season and then was a bit busy with the holidays. After the holidays there just wasn’t much of any interest or import to report and then things got busy again the past several weeks. Hopefully I’ll get back in the routine of regular short updates once again.

Instead of trying to update y’all on the past 10 weeks I’ll just start with a few things / thoughts over the next few posts.

For starters I’ve been sick and as a result have not yet raced this season. Three weeks ago I woke up with a sick taste in my mouth and lots of chest congestion. A sinus infection and bronchitis so I took some meds the doc perscribed (after of course checking their legality with USADA) and skipped out on the first big race weekend of the season missing walburg and pace bend. Now three weeks later I’m missing Lago Vista; happening as I type this.

This past Friday I could tell I was much improved with very little chest congestion left but then by Saturday night a new sinus infection had set in so now I’m mostly over bronchitis yet am not healthy and am starting another round of meds. Hopefully I’ll beat this soon and be back on track soon since I’m already over a month behind where my fitness and training should be.

Oh well. Once I get healthy I will be crazy hungry for solid training and racing. It has been 4.5 months since I have raced and over the past 4-5 years I average a race once every three days. So yeah I’ll be hungry if I haven’t grown too accustomed to sleeping-in and unstructured training weeks of just 8-12 hours.

Thanks for reading…Thanks for returning,
